Pianist Birsen Ulucan
The Turkish pianist Birsen Ulucan was born in Bulgaria in a family of doctors, who believed, that Art is the
most refined form of human expression. She has completed her high school education in Varna Music
School with Ekaterina Tsvetkova (Bulgaria), later at İstanbul State Conservatoire with Meral Yapalı (İstanbul)
and at Guildhall School of Music&Drama with Joan Havill, London. She completed an MA degree at the City University, London.
Birsen Ulucan performed exclusively in Europe, played with the leading orchestras of Turkey, also Shumen
Philarmonie, Vienna Chamber Orchestra, Ferenc Liszt Chamber Orchestra, joined Music Festivals such as
the Salzburg Mozarteum, İnternational Flain Music Festival in France, İstanbul Music Festival.
Sharing the stage with musicians like Marta Gulyas, Maxim Vengerov, Richard Rozsa, Laszlo Fenyö, İsabelle
van Keulen, Fernando Peres, Christian Poltera, Ozan Tunca, also with her violinist siblings Ayşen Ulucan and Özcan Ulucan, has added much to her professional character and the joy of music making as a whole.
Beside being a solo and chamber musician, she is a dedicated educator, teaching at both concervatoire level as well as working with young children. Birsen Ulucan has four recordings with Lila Music Label and together with the present one, two recordings with
